Schools of painting/cinema/architecture etc. come into being (or are retrofitted) with lofty philosophies describing their methods because we are such poor speakers of the native tongue of form. True fluency would be to be able to express whatever, however directly through an intuitive understanding of form, like a musician who learned to play by ear, not through some tedious, laborious elaboration of why and how to repeat the few garbled words we’ve learned in its language.
